I’ve just made an update to Syncotype-Alt the fork I created from Rob Goodlatte’s excellent baseline grid tool. This update incorporates improved code from Emmett Nicholas while preserving the “command line” features I added to the script. I also opted to keep my version sans-images. While Rob’s tool looks really nice and Emmett has updated his version to match Rob’s style, I’ve chosen features and performance over flash.

Emmet also made some nice, unmentioned, improvements to the script which make it much easier to change some defaults such as the line-color that will be displayed.

Download the new script here or read more about how to use it in my previous post.

Update (9 August): I just pushed out another small update that ensures that the script works with strict doctypes. It seems there were some specificity issues in the stylesheet. I believe they’ve been fixed now. Go ahead and download the new version from the same link listed above. - Tip of the hat to Clint Ecker and Paul Hart for pointing this out.
